Welcome to the Asian American Women Entrepreneurs Association ("AAWEA", "we", "our", or "us"). We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to empowering Asian American women in entrepreneurship and professional development. We may collect information about you in various ways when you interact with our Site.

A. Personal Information You Provide to Us

• Account & Membership Data: When you register as a member or ambassador, we collect your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, password, and professional background details.

• Business Directory & Showcase: If you list your business in our directory or submit to our AI Contests and submission showcases, we collect business names, website URLs, logos, descriptions, and contact information.

• Transactions & Donations: If you purchase a membership, register for a paid event, or make a donation, we or our third-party payment processors collect payment card details and billing  information.

• Communications: Information you provide when you contact us via our "Contact Us" form, email ([email protected]), hotline, or when you participate in surveys and feedback forms.

• AI Hub Inputs: Information, prompts, and queries you submit when utilizing our AI Tools, Agents Hub, and Prompts Hub.

B. Information Collected Automatically

• Log and Usage Data: Service-related, diagnostic, usage, and performance information our servers automatically collect when you access or use our Site, such as your IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and interaction with our Site's features.

• Cookies & Tracking Technologies: We use cookies, web beacons, and similar tracking technologies to improve user experience, remember your preferences, and analyze website traffic. (Please refer to our separate Cookie Policy for more details).

We use the information we collect to operate our nonprofit organization and provide you with a high-quality community experience, specifically to:

• Facilitate account creation, login processes, and manage your membership.

• Process transactions, event registrations, and charitable donations.

• Publish and manage the Member Directory, Business Directory, and Event/Job boards.

• Provide access to and improve the functionality of our Academy and AI Hub (including Use Cases, Prompts, Agents, and Design hubs).

• Communicate with you, including sending newsletters, event updates, administrative notices, and responding to inquiries.

• Organize and manage Contests (e.g., verifying certificates, announcing winners).

• Monitor and analyze usage and trends to improve our Site, marketing efforts, and member services.

• Prevent fraudulent transactions, monitor against theft, and protect against criminal activity.

 

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following situations:

• With Other Members and the Public: If you opt-in to our Member Directory or Business

Directory, your profile and business details will be visible to other members and/or the general public. Job postings and published stories will also be publicly visible.

• Service Providers: We may share data with third-party vendors and service providers that perform services for us (e.g., payment processing, data analysis, email delivery, hosting services, and AI processing partners like Google, OpenAI, Anthropic, or DeepSeek as integrated into our AI Hub).

• Sponsors and Partners: With your consent, we may share information with our event sponsors or affiliate partners (e.g., FAPACC, SAPA DC, GWEC) to facilitate joint events or offers.

• Legal Obligations: We may disclose your information where we are legally required to do so in order to comply with applicable law, governmental requests, a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process.

• To Protect Rights: We may disclose information when we believe it is necessary to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding potential violations of our policies, suspected fraud, or situations involving potential threats to the safety of any person.

 

Public Forums: Our Site allows you to publish events, stories, and participate in community hubs. Any information you voluntarily disclose in these public areas becomes publicly available and can be collected and used by others. We cannot control who reads your postings or what others may do with the information you voluntarily post.

AI Hub Usage: Our AI Hub integrates various artificial intelligence tools. When you input data, text, or prompts into these tools, that data may be processed by third-party AI providers. Please do not submit sensitive or confidential personal data into the AI tools.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical security measures designed to protect your personal information. However, please be aware that despite our best efforts, no security

measures are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse. We cannot guarantee complete security of the information you provide to us.

• Account Information: You may review, correct, or update your account information at any time by logging into your member portal.

• Opt-Out of Marketing: You may opt out of receiving marketing emails from us by clicking the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of our emails or by contacting us directly. You will still receive transactional emails related to your membership or event registrations.

• Cookies: You can set your browser to refuse all or some browser cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent.

• State Privacy Rights: Depending on your US state of residence, you may have specific rights regarding your personal information, such as the right to request access, correction, or deletion of your data. To exercise these rights, please contact us.

Our Site contains links to third-party websites, partner networks, sponsors, and AI platforms. If you follow a link to any of these websites, please note that these websites have their own privacy policies and that we do not accept any responsibility or liability for their policies or practices.

The Site and our services are intended for adults and professionals. We do not knowingly solicit information from or market to children under the age of 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete that information as quickly as possible.
